LNS are one of Norway's largest mine contractors and construction companies with approximately 750 employees and own mines in Norway and Scandinavia. With 13 companies within the group, LNS is also the largest construction contractor in Northern Norway.

LNS has significant graphite mining and processing experience, having owned and operated an important graphite producer for almost 20 years.

For the long term

LNS was founded in 1961 and has a successful operating history of over 60 years in Northern Norway. Graphite exploration and mining has a history of over 100 years in Northern Norway, as an LNS Company Arctic Graphite aims to build on this important legacy for many years to come by investing in the exploration and development of graphite and critical materials projects in Norway.

Working with local communities

Arctic Graphite collaborates with the Norwegian Geological Survey, the Directorate of Minerals, local municipalities and land owners to firstly assess the understanding and potential for the discovery of commercial graphite projects, and the feasibility of developing sustainable production of critical materials together with local partners and stakeholders. The ultimate aim is to invest in and develop projects that provide positive outcomes (financial and social) to the local community which we are a part of.

Reducing carbon emissions

Graphite plays a vital role in clean energy transition, particularly in energy storage, forming a substantial portion of modern lithium-ion batteries used in EVs, phones, and laptops. Arctic Graphite's local production in Norway can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of these batteries by sourcing critical materials in Northern Norway for Scandinavian and European battery manufacturers.

Through strict environmental policies and practices, and working with our local stakeholders (Govt and landowners) and world leading environmental advisors such as Minviro, Arctic Graphite will invest, develop and operate projects to the highest standards for the community. We are investing significantly in the local community, prioritising environmental sustainability and creating many skilled jobs and opportunities contributing to a greener future less reliant on fossil fuels.
